Joining a Yin + Restorative yoga class every week can offer several benefits that make it an appealing practice for many individuals. Here are some reasons:
Stress Reduction and Relaxation:
- Yin and restorative yoga are designed to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting deep relaxation and stress relief. Regular practice can help manage chronic stress and anxiety, leading to improved mental health and overall well-being.
Enhanced Flexibility and Mobility:
- Yin yoga involves holding poses for extended periods, targeting the connective tissues (ligaments, tendons, fascia). This helps to improve flexibility and joint mobility. Over time, this can enhance physical performance in other activities and reduce the risk of injury.
Better Sleep Quality:
- The calming effects of these yoga styles can lead to better sleep patterns. Regular practice can help in establishing a nighttime routine that prepares the body and mind for restful sleep, combating issues like insomnia.
Increased Mindfulness and Body Awareness:
- Both yin and restorative yoga encourage mindfulness and a deeper connection with the body. This can improve self-awareness, emotional regulation, and the ability to stay present, which are valuable skills for managing daily life stresses.
Recovery and Healing:
- These yoga styles are gentle and restorative, making them ideal for individuals recovering from illness, injury, or intense physical activity. They provide a way to stay active without putting undue stress on the body.

What is sound therapy?
Sound therapy with Tibetan singing bowls is an ancient form of regeneration. The first bowls were made from an alloy of various metals and were used already 6000 years ago in the Far East. Tibetan singing bowls area a mysterious acoustic phenomenon, which was discovered by “spiritual tourists” in the Himalayas and after the Chinese invasion of Tibet appeared also in Europe and the USA.
The sound of Tibetan singing bowls and the gong harmonizes and allows deep relaxation of both sides of the brain. It stimulates stress relief on all levels and the elimination of toxins from the body. After sound therapy emotions are calm and the mind clearer and the sound vibrations have an effect on the body after the singing bowls have been played on it.
Meet Your Teachers
Ildy
Yoga Teacher, Ayurvedic Massage Therapist and Reiki Master
India ignited Ildy's passion for yoga in 2000. A transformative month-long yoga course in Auroville sparked a fire within, leading her to return to India for a Yoga Teacher Training course. This experience solidified the profound connection between yoga and her well-being. Since then, yoga has become an inseparable thread in the fabric of Ildy's life. Her teaching style is informed by a deep understanding cultivated through continuous learning and personal experience. Sharing this ancient art and science with others is a true honour. As Ildy embarked on her yoga journey, the profound connection between mind and body became clear. Yoga postures, or asanas, are not merely physical exercises; they are tools to cultivate awareness, healing, and clarity for the mind, body, and spirit. This mind-body connection, she realised, allows us to return to the present moment and truly understand ourselves. Through yoga, Ildy discovered inner peace and the importance of mindfulness. Ildy's personal practice and teaching and training experiences allow for a unique blend of traditional Indian yoga styles and contemporary approaches. Classes are spontaneous, lighthearted, and designed to create a positive and uplifting learning experience for students. The ultimate goal is to guide you on your journey of self-discovery and connection. While she deeply values yoga's spiritual aspects, Ildy also recognises the importance of the physical body.
Adi
Yoga Teacher
I'm just a regular person who fell in love with yoga over a decade ago. Its powerful impact inspired me to become a teacher myself.
With over a decade of teaching yoga under my belt, my journey began in my childhood bedroom, instinctively stretching before bed after watching Lyn Marshall's Everyday Yoga with my mum. Fast forward to my twenties, and I stumbled upon Gerri Halliwell's yoga DVDs, which further ignited my passion.
The real turning point came in 2011 when I attended a life-changing yoga retreat in France. Inspired and invigorated by that experience, I knew I had to share the magic of yoga with others. Within a year, I was on a plane to Rishikesh, India, to embark on my first 200-hour teacher training program, where I met the incredible Ildy.
Since then, I've eagerly pursued various YTT's, including Laughter Yoga, Yin Yoga with Josh Summers, and Yoga4All with Dianne Bondy and Amber Karnes. My passion for yoga has taken me around the globe, allowing me to study and teach in Spain, Malaysia, Abu Dhabi, Kenya, and the UK.
As a joyful yoga enthusiast, I'm passionate about creating welcoming spaces for all. Where you can discover delight in movement, bolster your self-confidence, physical strength, mental resilience, and be part of a supportive community. It's all about celebrating our bodies in a positive, inclusive space and making yoga accessible to everyone.
I'm dedicated to promoting fairness, inclusivity, and respect in the wellness sphere, irrespective of age, race, gender, neurotype, size, or religion. We're all unique, and that's something to cherish. Come join us—after all, we're all human.
